FAQs

What is financial coaching?

Financial coaching is a partnership where I help you gain clarity, create a plan, and build the habits to win with your money. I'm not here to manage your investments or sell you products — I'm here to coach you through the decisions, behaviors, and challenges that keep you stuck. Think of me as your guide, accountability partner, and biggest cheerleader as you take control of your financial future.

How is financial coaching different from working with a financial advisor?

Great question. A financial advisor typically focuses on investment management, retirement planning, and growing wealth. I focus on the foundational stuff that comes first: getting out of debt, building an emergency fund, creating a budget that actually works, and helping you and your spouse get on the same page about money. I don't sell financial products or manage your portfolio. I coach you on behavior, mindset, and the step-by-step plan to get from where you are to where you want to be.

Who do you work with?

My sweet spot is couples who are tired of fighting about money and ready to get on the same page. I love helping partners turn money from a source of conflict into a tool for building the life they want together. That said, I also work with individuals who feel overwhelmed by debt, stuck in their budgeting, or just need someone in their corner to help them make progress. If you're ready to make a change, I'm ready to coach you.

What does a coaching session look like?

Every session is tailored to where you are and what you need. We'll usually start by checking in on your progress since we last talked — celebrating wins and troubleshooting challenges. Then we'll dig into the topic at hand: building your first budget, tackling your debt payoff plan, navigating a tough money conversation with your spouse, or whatever's next on your journey. I'll ask questions, offer guidance, hold you accountable, and equip you with the tools and clarity to take your next step. Sessions are conversational, practical, and action-focused. You'll leave with a clear plan and the confidence to execute it.

What happens between sessions?

A lot, actually — and that is kind of the point.

Between sessions, you will have specific action steps you chose at the end of each meeting. These might be building your first written budget, making your first extra debt payment, or having a money conversation with your spouse. The session gives you clarity and a plan; the time between sessions is where the real work happens.

I also offer between-session support via email and text during my set availability hours. If you hit a snag, have a quick question, or just want to share a win, you can reach out. I want to know how it is going — not just on session day.

You will also receive a follow-up summary from me after each session. It recaps what we covered, lists your action steps, and gives you something to refer back to when life gets busy.

This is not a "show up once a month and hope for the best" experience. You are building something, and I am with you through all of it.

Can I cancel or pause my package?

Life happens, and I want you to feel informed before you sign anything.

Coaching packages are non-refundable — they represent a commitment of my time, preparation, and availability for you. That said, if something changes in your life situation, reach out to me directly and let's talk. I am not going to pretend there is one right answer to every situation.

If you need to pause temporarily due to a genuine circumstance — a family emergency, a medical situation, a major life event — we can discuss how to handle that in a way that works for both of us. For example, this might mean changing the frequency of our meetings. I would rather figure it out together than leave you feeling stuck.

Before you start, we will have a discovery call where I encourage you to ask every question you have — including this one. The goal is for you to begin coaching with full confidence, not uncertainty.

What if I can’t afford coaching right now?

If money is genuinely so tight right now that a coaching package is not possible, I would rather tell you that than sell you something that adds financial stress. That is not what coaching is for.

What I will say is this: most people who feel like they cannot afford coaching are also the people who need it most — not because I want their money, but because the habits and systems we build together tend to pay for themselves quickly. Clients who commit to a plan often free up more than the cost of coaching within the first few months just by finding margin they did not know they had.

The discovery call is free. Bring your real situation to that conversation and let's talk honestly about whether coaching makes sense for you right now — and if not, I will tell you.

How long does coaching take?

It depends on your goals and starting point. Some clients work with me for a few months to build a solid foundation — budget, emergency fund, debt payoff plan — and then they're off to the races on their own. Others stay engaged for a year or more as they work through bigger challenges like paying off significant debt, saving for a home, or navigating major life transitions. The good news? You're in control. We'll create a plan together, and you decide how long you want me in your corner.

Is this faith-based coaching?

Here's the honest answer: my faith shapes how I see money — as a tool for stewardship, generosity, and Kingdom impact. If you're a believer, I'd love to help you align your finances with your faith and discover the freedom that comes from managing God's resources well. We can talk about biblical stewardship, giving, and using your wealth to advance the Kingdom.

That said, you don't have to share my faith to work with me. I work with people from all backgrounds, and I'll never preach at you or make you feel excluded. The principles I coach — budgeting, getting out of debt, planning for the future — are universal and practical. Whether your "why" is faith-based or not, I'm here to help you win with money and build a life you're proud of.

What are your credentials and qualifications?

I've attended and completed Ramsey Solutions Financial Coach Master Training, which equipped me with the tools, frameworks, and coaching skills to help people take control of their money. Beyond that certification, I've worked with couples and individuals just like you — helping them pay off debt, stop fighting about money, and build a financial foundation that actually works. My real qualification? I care deeply about your success, and I'll show up for you with energy, expertise, and encouragement every step of the way.

Do you offer virtual sessions?

Absolutely. I'm based in the Fishers, Indiana area, but I work with clients virtually across the country. All you need is a phone or computer and a quiet place to talk. Virtual coaching is just as effective as in-person — you get the same personalized attention, accountability, and support, with the added convenience of meeting from wherever you are. Whether you're local or across the country, I'd love to work with you.

Still have Questions?

I'd love to hear from you. Whether you've got a question that's not covered here or you're ready to dive in and start winning with your money, the next step is simple: schedule your free discovery call. Let's talk about your goals, your challenges, and how coaching can help you get where you want to go.

No pressure. No judgment. Just a real conversation about your financial future — and the clarity and confidence to take your next step.
